Thread Starter

Great news! TVShowsOnDVD has just announced that Vega$ Season 2, Volume 1 will be released on December 7. It's great to see this show hasn't been abandoned(yet). We're still, obvously, getting the volume releases, but that's better than no Vega$ at all.

Some really wonderful Paramount news today indeed, three loud cheers !!!

This is great news, which means we could see S2, V2 maybe earlier next year. The good thing about this series is that it only ran for about 3 years. So, maybe there is hope for Matt Houston as well. Another great early 1980s show. Gee, i am starting to date myself.

Trust me, I'm a dinosaur compared to you    I recall watching my favorite 60's show "Combat!" when it aired ('62-'67).

But I'm with you on Vega$.  I liked Greg Morris in that one as well.

I haven't bought any of these because of the split season sets, but I did buy Season 1 of Matt Houston and am hoping for Season 2. Speaking of Greg Morris, yesterday would have been his 77th birthday!

Very Nice!  something to add to the must buy list.  Which has been a rare event of late. The only thing I currently have on there is the final season of Mary Tyler Moore. Unless I count the Six Million Dollar Man. I also hope to see more Matt Houston + hopefully more Jake and the Fatman and the Streets of San Francisco next year.

I watch an episode of the Streets of San francisco last night and would love to see more seasons of this show along with Cannon.

Vega$ was a good show, especially if you like Robert Ullrich as an actor. I like him in SWAT/Spenser for Hire. Unfortunately, he left this earth far to soon. However, these sets will keep our memory of him alive!!!

Tvshowsondvd has the cover for "Vega$-Season 2-Volume 1" online an it looked great.

Hopefully, CBS Paramount will also release Volume 2 in a few months as well.

The end of the second season has a great 90 minutes episode where Dan Tanny travels to San Francisco to investigate the murder of a cop collegue.

I think the episode is called "Golden Gate Cop Killer" or something like that.....

I don't think that episode will be on v1, S2. I just checked tv.com and this is what it said

Season 2, Episode 21 – Aired: 3/19/1980

The Golden Gate Cop Killer (2)

No synopsis available. Write a synopsis.

Season 2, Episode 20 – Aired: 3/19/1980

The Golden Gate Cop Killer (1)

A friend of Dan's who is a cop comes to visit from San Francisco, where someone has been murdering cops and taunting them by telling them that their death will be linked to a particular number. But the killer has followed him and plants a bomb and the number in his car, which Dan sees just before it blows up. Dan then decides to go to San Francisco to get revenge on the killer.

My guess it will be out with S2, V2. I am looking forward to this set and i hope S2, V2 comes early next year.

younger1968: That´s what I said. The 90 minute episode "Golden Gate Cop Killer" will be on the Season 2-Volume 2 set.

But I think if CBS/Paramount will release Season 2-Volume 1, then they´ll also release Volume 2 in a couple of month!

Today axelmusic already sent my Season 2-Volume1 DVD´s to me.

I got the info that "Vega$-Season2-Volume 2" will be released on 29th March from dvddigitalbits.

tvshowsondvd hasn´t announced Volume 2 yet on their website but probably will in a couple of hours....

TVShowsOnDVD have posted a new news article on their website for Vega$, news about the second volume of the second season. Included in the article is 3D front cover artwork and bonus features info (episodic promos). The link to the news article is below:

The box art looks fantastic. I had no complaints about the previous releases, but this is the best one yet!

i am looking forward to this set, because Tanya Roberts is in an episode. Tanya roberts was hottie late 1970s and early 1980s. Unfortunately, she did not age well in that's 70s show.

Box art looks great....-even better than the Season 1 cover arts and Volume 1 of Season 2.

As I said before, I´m also looking forward to the episode where Tanya Roberts was in but not because of Ms.Roberts but this particular 2 part episode is fantastic with "Dirty Harry villain"Andy Robinson as a bad guy and with a great San Francisco scenery.

It´s great that Volume 2 will only be released 3,5 months after Volume 1.

Hopefully, we´ll get Season 3 in 2011 as well.

Agree about Tanya R.  I'm still waiting for the last season of Charlie's Angels.

I hear you as well on Charlie's Angels. I have S1-S3, but, did not buy S4 due to the inclusion of Shelly Hack. I was not a big fan of Shelly Hack. I will buy the set down the road or when it becomes cheap in Canada.

I love Vega$ and hope this means that 2011 we could see the show completed. This would mean only 2 volumes left.

It's a nice welcome to see it featuring subtitles now I only wish the first season had too, not so good this time though is the picture quality clearly taking a step down from the lovingly remastered season one, that unfortunately doesn't look as if it's the case here from what I can tell so far. It still looks good and the episodes are in fine and acceptable condition but it's kind of odd only the first season got this visual cleaning up, all the same, it's definitely worth adding to the collection showing it doesn't have to be HD to satisfy most cult TV fans.

Henry,  Thanks for the info on the set.  I have it on the shelf but haven't started viewing it yet.  Regarding the picture change as compared to the S1 sets, I recall seeing that with some of my other show's sets as well.  If I recall, something similar was noticed with the Untouchables sets after S1.

As far as HD,  my older Sd TV/DVD sets all look great being viewed upconverted via HDMI on my 50" Plasma set.  I did some comparisons when I still had my old crt TV and I'd never want to go back to that.

Today, Axelmusic sent Season 2-Volume 2 to me, so I´ll have it before the official release date.

The review copy for Season 2, Volume 2 has arrived, but with other films in the queue ahead of it, it'll be a few days before I can get to it.
