I feel sorry for the new characters getting sucked into the orbits of all these horrible people.

I'm rooting for the Beiste.

Off to a strong start, the show didn't miss a beat or a note with it's return.

Seeing Will and Sue getting along for once was off-putting lol.

The coach looks like MADTV's Will Sasso in drag.

Liked the new girl Sunshine, she's got some pipes on her! Too bad Rachel screwed that up by sending her to a crack house.

A Great start! Man this is a great show, nice to be watching something similar to a musical weekly. I was put off a bit by the first 2 songs being rap, it's not my cup of tea, but ending with What I Did for Love from A Chorus Line brought back my faith hehe. The new coach is something else. Sunshine has one awesome voice, I really hope she changes her mind.

I'm just glad the new characters are likable people. There was a shortage of them last season. I hope the tiny Filipino girl comes back to New Directions. She has a positively tremendous voice.

Solid premiere--lots of laughs and strong numbers.  "Empire State of Mind" was especially entertaining.

Charice Pempengco (Sushine) was awesome.

Looking forward to more Heather Morris dancing in next week's theme episode!

Glad to see Glee did not miss a beat for its 2nd season opener.  Poor Artie.  Did the actress playing Santana really get a new rack, or is it just a stuffed plot device?  The blonde Justin Beiber haircut did the new guy no favors, plus he wasn't as good at the lip-sync, while Rachel continues to knock her numbers out of the ballpark.

Oh, I forgot to mention, Dianna Agron without the baby belly = yum.

Dianna Agron with or without the baby belly = yum

Oh of course.

The new football guy had a good voice but I found his lip makeup was too dark. I kept thinking of a cross between wax lips and The Joker.

It also seemed rather jarring that, right after all the hullaballoo about budget cuts, that the entire glee club somehow came up with matching, custom printed tee shirts for a one-off, non-competitive performance of "Empire State of Mind" on the school steps. I couldn't really get into the performance, as I kept thinking, "where'd that money come from"?

I thought the exact same thing!
Another solid episode (Entertainment Weekly reports it was the second highest rated episode ever) and I can't WAIT for Britney next week!

Is the new football player possibly Kurt's new boyfriend?

That was the early rumor, but supposedly the producers are now casting for another gay character, so who knows for sure. At the moment, it looks like he's at least being set up as a rival/nemesis for Finn in football and glee club.

The new football coach is a 15 time World arm wrestling champion.  I got it from imdb.

I liked the episode a lot but it looks like Lea Michelle has lost a lot of wieght and she now looks odd.

LOL at Finn and Artie actually thinking trying out for football would work.

Unknown Object

Holy cow.  Just for the Britney / Brittnay...

I will have to record and save this episode.. wow.

I'm surprised by all of the Britney love, when did the world start liking her again? I totally missed it.

About the only thing I can say for her is she's hot, her music? Meh.

Her music is mostly "meh" but it is catchy kid stuff, and whatever.   But I'm more interested in the hot-girl looks we'll get this week smile.gif  See video smile.gif

Glee shows us how you start a new season! I thought it was superb episode with some great music -- which was all new to me (except, of course, the shower version of Every Rose... Glad they threw in one 80s song for us fogies smile.gif. I was very impressed with the New York song, and enjoyed all the others. I am impressed by how they both reset the show but also made it fresh: New Directions has to fight for funding, for recognition, for "cool". Again they're at odds with Football, but the coach is sympathetically crazy. Sue is again the enemy, yet a potential ally. It's all great smile.gif (My wife, however, thought it at middling episode.)

Britney / Cheerios? or Britney / Spears? The former was and is awesome. The latter...is she still alive? smiley_wink.gif

Britney Spears had her first number one song in ten years with "Womanizer" and this was after all the crazy shit she did. She seems to have gotten herself together in the past two/three years.

What, no Britney fantasy for Quinn??

Disappointing episode, I for the life of me can't figure out why they didn't allow the one girl who looks the most like Britney to have her own Britney number, she should have been the one to sing 'One More Time'.

Because of that I have to give this ep an epic fail score.

Well, Britney Susan Pierce sure had a hell of a show.

I'm just not feeling these artist theme episodes. I know the soundtracks for them sell gangbusters, but they greatly deprive the show of its use of song for emotional subtext. The Brittany hallucination songs had jack squat to do with the larger plot of the episode. The one attempt to do so, Artie's big number, came across as incredibly strained. The one musical number that worked was the one musical number that wasn't a Britney song, that Paramore single from earlier this year.

One heck of a show for one of my favorite characters

This episode started out okay, but then it got weaker as it went along.  Won't lie, enjoyed the early numbers, but it just felt out of focus or just lost its way, plus the whole dentist-induced dreams gave me a creepy dentist vibe at times.  Will's subplot practically stopped any momentum the episode had going for it.

In terms of sheer entertainment, I really liked this episode.  Slave 4 U and Baby One More Time were highlights, and Toxic is my favorite Britney Spears song.  And yes, I actually like more than one Britney Spears song.  I could watch those numbers repeatedly because they were really great, and also to play, "spot the SYTYCD dancer".

Overall, it was a good episode for me.  I thought the show sagged the second half of season one, but this season is climbing back for me.

For those that dislike themed episodes, it should be noted another big one is coming up soon, as Glee takes on "Rocky Horror Picture Show"

In addition to the news from Comic-Con that at the behest of Chris Colfer (Kurt), Ryan Murphy had agreed to do an episode paying tribute to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, we've learned that so far at least two original cast members have signed on.  Actor Barry Bostwick (Brad Majors) and former music-man Meat Loaf (Eddie, Ex-Delivery Boy) will appear in the October 26th, and likely Halloween-themed episode.

I hope Meat Loaf sings. He's still got a terrific voice.
