The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks guys!  Its going to be an expensive few months....I'm in for Charade, Spartacus Blood & Sand (the $35 Amazon price makes it a no brainer), Human Target, Tinkerbell and when they go on sale American Beauty and Peacemaker.  The Secret of Moonacre looks interesting as well.

The onslaught of TV on DVD releases is upon us! Wow! So many season sets are coming out this week. I know studios try to tie these releases to fall season premieres, but I think they might be better served by staggering their release dates. Why not issue some titles two-three weeks earlier and give viewers a better chance to get caught up with last season's shows? Case in point, I picked up The Big Bang Theory last week and easily viewed the entire season over a few nights. Now I am ready to go for the season four premiere on Thursday. There is no way I can sit through all of How I Met Your Mother: Season 5, The Mentalist: Season 2, Modern Family: Season 1, Desperate Housewives: Season 6, and all the others coming out this week before their respective season premieres.

Nothing for me...rewatching Glee for now. Can't wait for TS3!!!!

Mike, I may be the only one, but I...um...appreciate that screen cap of Andy Whitfield.  Haven't seen Spartacus, but knowing he's not coming back to the show isn't exactly making me want to run out and catch up on the show.

American Beauty is a definite get when the price comes down a bit.  I'm actually kind of shocked some retailer doesn't have a good tie-in sale on the other Paramount Sapphire Series discs.

I'm really torn on what I'm going to get this week.  We'll see when I get out tomorrow.

Don't fprget the Tinkerbell Blu Ray $10 off coupons from Disney Movie Rewards -- free to anyone who wants to sign up (free) and print the coupons - 2 per account.

Should be also $8 off Prince Of Persia and better yet $10 off Beauty and the Beast Combo in a couple of weeks.   You have to input a UPC code of a prior edition

of BATB but the instructions should actually show the UPC code to add (or a simple Google will bring it up in seconds).    Everybody pretty much expects a

similar coupon to be available when TS3 is released since the last 8 or 9 Disney Bly Ray have all had 8 or 10 coupons..

I'll pick up Community: Season One, 30 Rock: Season Four and American Beauty when they drop a little bit.

Thanks for the prices, guys!

Thanks for the Roundup!!

Lots of TV on DVD/Blu-ray this week.  Will give Robin Hood a rental at some point and will pick up Charade whenever I see another good CC sale.

Thanks as usual Mike.

Just Charade for us. The original non-anamorphic DVD needs replacing badly.

Just Robin Hood (Future Shop Steelbook) and Modern Family: Season One on Blu-ray for me this week.  Thanks guys!

I want Charade on BD, but not for $30. I'm going to wait in vain for a rare Criterion sale, or at least until a decent online Borders coupon comes along. This would have been a no brainer with a 40 percent off in store coupon back before Borders decimated their media section.

I Ordered Spartacus from Walmart for $35 on Blu which I thought was a great deal, there are alot of other TV Titles, Human Target, Bored to Death, and Castle, that I want, but I'll wait for price drops. Same on Charade. I don't buy TV On DVD right away anymore , they drop real fast and I can wait.

I got it from Amazon via the HTF link for $34.99. Given the critical praise, it was worth a blind buy at that price. Though I'm not sure I want to completely love it, if we're not going to get a Season 2. Hopefully Whitfield beats his disease, and S2 is just delayed.

The impression I got from the press release was that he was off the show period.  It would be silly for Starz to issue the release and say he wasn't returning if there was a snowball's chance in h-e-double hockey sticks of Whitfield actually coming back.  Just my impression, of course.

The whole story is that when the cancer was first discovered, season two of the show was postponed while he underwent treatment, and the producers put into production a prequel season of six episodes dealing with the period before Spartacus arrived. Whitfield then announced his cancer had gone into remission, so season two was rescheduled, but Whitfield's cancer has now returned, so the season had to be canceled.

Why?  Have you heard inside info that B&N plans to stop doing their periodic 50%-off Criterion sale?  Presumably, there will be one by the time BF time rolls around in a couple months.

I don't know if it's a fluke, but Amazon has Community Season 1 for 17.99: http://amzn.com/B002N5N5LG

BestBuy.com has a bunch of BD's for 2/$20 both online and in store.  (I can confirm the latter since I was just there.  No signage that I saw, but they rang up 2/$20.)  Incredible Hulk, Mamma Mia, Graduate, Wanted, Resident Evil (multiples) and so on.  Link

Argh, why no Community Blu-Ray?  I hate the thought of buying on DVD what I'd normally watch in HD.  :(
