Why the heck did all the sales threads get archived???

What's this all about?

We rolled out a new classifieds section that replaces a regular post with a classified post.  Since the posting format is different we had to start a new area, so we moved all the older for sale posts to a new "archive area".  In the archive you can still respond to an existing thread, you just can't start a new one.  In a few months we will remove the archive area.  We created it to give posters a chance to sell their posted items or migrate them to the new area.  The new classifieds area is still free.  It also has a built in feedback system (which was a member requested feature), and is designed to make it easier to view listed products.  Here are links to the new areas.  Check them out!

There are links on the top of the new forums to the archive areas.

See this is that communications stuff we've been talking about.  These seem like good changes.  Springing them unannounced is not so hot tho!

That was my bad, sorry about that.  I made sure I posted at the top of the new areas, but forgot to post it here.  It will be officially announced in the next newsletter as well.

Thats cool, no need for apologies Adam.  Just saying with a change of this magnitude it might have been better to let folks know a week ahead of time that those threads would be disrupted.

Adam:

From the looks of things, members will only be able to sell one item at a time (per "thread") rather than have a thread with a number of different items included?  Is that right?

While it is optimized for that with the way the listings and FB are done, there is nothing preventing you from listing multiple items under one heading like "Blu-ray Collection for sale"  detailing the titles and prices within the post.
