Uploading Images is acting buggy

When trying to upload an image, the above is the result.

Was working fine up until yesterday afternoon.

It looks like there was some sort of server error when that graphic file was uploaded. The server returns a "not found" message when I try to access the file address.

Would you mind trying it again? This morning, image uploads seem to be working:

Looks like it's working now.

thanks, for looking into it.

Scratch that..........problem is still there when uploading images through editing existing posts.

I was able to fix it in both places. Somehow, the URL for the image was getting truncated (at both the beginning and end) in the image tool. That's probably why it was returning the "not found" errors.

I was able to retrieve the complete URL by right-clicking on the image and selecting "properties". Then I copied the complete URL, edited the post, selected the image, opened the image properties box and inserted the full URL.

Yeah, I tried what you did and was able to fix doing the same but Holy Crap......... WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!

Is this function going to get fixed anytime soon?  Are the Huddler people on strike or something?

To fix a bug, they have to know what it is. It's still not clear to me what's happening. If it were, I'd have opened a ticket.

The usual scenario when there's a problem with image uploads is that the reviewers run into it first, because every review contains cover art. So far, though, none of the reviewers are reporting problems (me included).

Can you lay out -- in detail -- the exact procedure for reproducing the problem? Huddler does read this area.

I upload images ALL the time and am not running into ANY problems.  Using XP and FF 3.6.9.

Here is one quick image.

I am now editing this post and adding this picture:

We managed to replicate this problem (we think) and have Huddler looking at it.

  1. I use the HTF insert image icon
  2. Select Browse on the add image window
  3. Click on the image in my picture library
  4. select open
  5. click on submit

The image uploading problem only occurs when editing an existing (old) thread.

The problem does not occur when uploading an image to a new post.

Again it worked fine up until last week (I've done this many times in the past)

I use Firefox and have Windows 7

Jim, please try it today. We are being told that they fixed something, but I'm not sure whether what they fixed addresses the specific problem you've been encountering.

But, FWIW, I just inserted the above image while editing this post.

  Any progress?

or are they leaving this function permanently broken?

The latest word from Huddler is that this issue is limited to Firefox. A fix is supposed to be included in the next software version, but I don't know when that will happen.

EDIT: My mistake. Apparently the fix they were talking about has already been implemented. Since the problem still exists, I've kicked this one to higher-ups.

You know what's odd?

When I right-click on the link to Jim's image in post #11 and try to open the image in a new tab...I get taken to an HTF error page with the following message:

Quote:
Message: Page not found: Argument 'id' was not passed to the query string.

But the thing is...I was logged-out on the error page...while still logged-on on the other HTF pages I had open.  I tried this a few times and got the same results.

Jim, please confirm whether the image that now appears in post #11 is the correct one.

If it is, then the description of the bug is as follows:

The correct url for the image is: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/image/id/363355/width/1000/height/500

The url inserted by the image tool is: image/id/363357/width/1000/height/500

The url retrieved by right-clicking "properties" is: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/303784/image/id/363355/width/1000/height/500

(Note the extra characters, marked with strike-through.)

Also, please try it one more time, because your last attempt in this thread was on 9/13, and the software was updated shortly after.
