OK, I've tried searching everywhere and it's only leading to more confusion.
I have a HTiB setup. the JVC TH-C50. Which is fine for my little Apt. right now. I am thinking of buying the LG bd550 Blu-ray player. To replace my old Sony that was stolen.  It's in my price range and does all the streaming I want too. I can't seem to figure out if I can get it connected to my surround system. The JVC has Optical, and RCA L/R audio inputs. The LG BD550 has Coaxial and RCA L/R outputs only I think. Soooo... I want the best possible surround I can get. It seems my only option is to use the RCAs. Is there a better option? (without spending more $) ;) I may just start looking for another Blu-ray player with optical out.

I miss watching my Blu-rays.

Thanks

Phil

Would this one work for you?

Here in Florida Sams sells that Player  in same price range.

Your simplest solution is to find another BR player with an optical output.  Otherwise, you can get an adapter box for coaxial to optical for $20 or $30, but there is no need.  There are plenty of BR players with optical audio. This will not give the best sound BR is capable, but the best your HTiB is capable of.  Then just run the hdmi straight to the TV.

Thanks, for the help. After looking at the BD player you linked to I found it's exactly what I'm looking for. I found it at best buy for $99!  I should have it by Friday!

Thanks

Phil
