How would you use this S-video to Optical *audio* cable?

Not new, but how is this used???

I don't know of any piece of audio equipment that has a digital audio interface with a 4 pin DIN plug.  Plug there is no circuit on that cable to convert an electrical signal to light.

 

My only thought is that the description is wrong and it's really an S-video and an optical cable in a single cable jacket.

they've got to mean that it's two cables jacketed together.

This is what happens when you don't train employees to do the tasks they're given  . Obviously someone was asked to describe a cable(s) when they have absolutely no idea how to do it.  

 

Either that or there is some kind of magical cable out there that can convert an analog video signal to a digital audio one  . Although I can't for the life of me figure out why someone would need it .
