The Smallville banner is perfect for HTF!

Great job to the ad buying team, this is exactly the kind of stuff I would happily enjoy seeing here at HTF.

Yeah, pretty slick!

Thanks for the feedback guys, glad you like it.  Don't forget to check out Matt's review: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/303449/htf-blu-ray-review-smallville-the-complete-ninth-season

I like it, too!

Takes me back to those days of yore with special HTF skin colors for the releases of The Simpsons Movie and Iron Man.

I didn't like it at first.  When I first saw the Smallville "banner" it extended not only across the top of the screen, but also all the way down BOTH sides of the screen and the regular HTF posting area was sacrificed in the process.  What I didn't realize is that I wasn't logged in (thanks to the auto log-off "feature").  Today, I finally got around to logging back in to HTF.  As soon as I logged in, BAM!, the Smallville theme was ONLY at the top of the screen and the regular HTF posting area was full size again (dynamically stretching to fill my browser window).  Not sure why the different look between being logged in and logged out.  But frankly, the "logged out" layout was off-putting to me (it seemed too much)... and that's what any potential new member would see.

My only "nit" with the "logged in look" is that Clark (on the left side) needs to be moved down a bit.  He looked fine when I was logged out as you could see his full body all the way down the left side.  But logged in all I see is the top of his forehead and hair.  It just looks sloppy.

Other than that, themes like this are much just what HTF needs.

It looks nice and all, but unless you're in the US, a totally useless ad grand scheme of things, since the link it visits comes up with "The WB is only viewable in the United States."

Jack Theakston made a good comment at the end of this post:

That was my experience when I tried a test post. After entering text in the reply box, I accidentally-on-purpose clicked outside the forum space, was taken to the WB site, and when I went back, everything I'd entered in the reply box was gone. Same result with both the quick reply box and full-page editor.

Imperfect trying to read things in the upper right hand corner such as message count & subscriptions - you can almost read them.

The first image is the default view of the forum, logged in or not.  You have the ability to individually set the forum to full page width (second image).  All the monitors I have at home are wide screen and the second image you have is too wide on a wide screen monitor--at least for me, so I stick with the default.

Thats because the skin is an ad.  For future reference I will see if we can set it to open in a new window.

Thanks Adam.  I didn't realize my "logged in" view wasn't standard.  I haven't ever gone in and changed any of my forum settings.  I much prefer the wide look even on my wide screen monitors.  What is apparently the default view just feels very restrictive and claustrophobic to me because of the advertisements eating up space on the right side.  However, once I get below the ads, and the posting area fills out, it's not bad.

No problem.  Just for reference, to access the setting click on the My Profile tab at the top of the screen, then hit the edit account details button, and you will find it under forum preferences along with default to full page editor, hide avatars and hide signatures.  Our last release expanded the forum to be wider once you clear the ads, and recent reviews--that is not adjustable.  There was also an issue recently where some members weren't getting their old 2 week cookie replaced by the new 60 day ones.  That has been fixed, so you should have a 60 day cookie now.

The expanded forum below the ads is a welcome change.  I haven't noticed any problem with getting logged out any sooner than 60 days.  In this case, I think it was just coincidence that I was logged out just before the Smallville theme was added.

Those are certainly eye-opening images for me!

Here's what things have been looking like for me on all three of the PCs I use to surf the HTF (two are set to glorious 1024 by 768.  The other is 1152 by 864.)

It's like I got stuck with the MAR'd version!

This.   I agree w/ this complaint.  I'm quite annoyed by the banner link wrapping all around the main area as well -- and that's why I decided to check here to complain.  I don't have my browser opened at full width, but the site always leaves a little gap along each side anyway no matter how narrow one sets the browser window.  And since I normally use the scrollbar (and hate using scrollwheel), I find myself occasionally clicking on the gap and jumping to the promo site in the middle of reading stuff -- fortunately, haven't done that just yet while I'm writing a post (though that's happened w/ other quirks before).  It wouldn't be quite so bad if the banner link would target a new window (or new browser tab) so we don't lose our place (or worse, whatever we happened to be writing at the moment), but doing a straight redirect from HTF itself is just plain bad.

Like most everyone else, I do like the look of it (when I bother to expand my browser to full width), but just not the way the link aspect is done.

Please fix this asap (for this and any future uses of such banners).

Liked the ad, except it was a week too late: I pre-ordered Smallville from Amazon the week before this ad came out. If it had appeared earlier, I could have purchased via HTF.

But I suppose the ad isn't for me. I've bought every season of Smallville on DVD and knew a year ago I'd buy this season come Fall 2010. And now I get to buy in Bluray :)
