The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

I may pick up the Red Riding Trilogy on BD. It would be a blind buy. Anybody seen it? Does it have replay value?

I'm working on the HTF review. I think it requires more than one viewing. At the same time, it ain't light entertainment.

Thanks Mike!  I'll "bite" on Deep Blue Sea for $12.99.  I was looking at it yesterday, but at $22.99 it was too much, glad it will be on sale.  While I'm there I'll grab the Score too.

I can't believe how many exclusives there are this week!

Cool. Can't wait to read it.

Sons of anarchy will wait till the blu is around $25, what I paid for the first season a few weeks back. I have Deep Blue Sea on DVD not worthy of an upgrade. Is philedelphia all 4 seasons $20 ea I might bite on that although walmart often has two packs for around that.

I'm right there with you, Adam, minus the joke.    I'm gonna pick it up Friday night on the way home, make some pizza and wait until it gets dark out to put it in.  With my overactive imagination, I'll most likely scare the crap out of myself.

It looks like BB.com has a bunch of other stuff I'm game for at good prices.  I'll just add them to the vacuum I'm getting and file them under "small appliances."

Mike:
Have you seen any info on a general release of "Babies"? Netflix generally doesn't have these retailer exclusives and I heard good things about it... Just don't think I'd buy it though.

I think people need to grab them at that price because they're going to be more expensive at Amazon when they're released there in the next couple of months especially in regard to those Liongate titles.

The second and third films are actually available to view over Netflix Instant Watch. Not sure why the first isn't, but it worked out for me since I saw the first in theater but not the rest.

It's hard to imagine watching parts 2 and 3 of Red Riding without seeing part 1. This is one of those trilogies where seeing all three parts, in order, really does matter.

If not for family obligations, I'd finish the review today, but it'll be sometime tomorrow.

General release is September 28, Eric.

I think Blockbuster is going to have it for rental this Tuesday.  I don't know if that's an exclusive or if Netflix might have it, too.

Amazon's pre-order for the DVD is $22.99 and $29.99 for the BD.  Yuck...but potentially subject to change, of course.

I'll pick up The Evil Dead Blu-ray when it gets a little cheaper. I'd guess that I'll see it on sale some time in October.

Thanks for the prices, guys!

It appears that Best Buy is experimenting with a $7.99 price on several of its BluRay titles:

I picked up the La Femme Nikita remake Point of No Return with Bridgette Fonda for $7.99, Crank for $7.99, and there were a few others. All were titles that are usually on sale for $9.99 (during sales) and are usually overpriced at $12.99 or $14.99 normally. Terminator:Salvation was also $7.99 but I have it already. Again, these are BluRays.

So I was happy to let them know that this experiment worked, by buying those.

I also got the Stargate 15th Anniversary Edition, first time I've ever seen that edition on a sale price in a brick n mortar store, for $12.99. Usually only the previous edition (which for some reason remained in print to compete against the newer edition) is on sale for that price.

Also a whole bunch of $9.99 Blus, but nothing that caught my attention. And Underworld:Rise of the Lycans was $14.99 but I'm sure that price can be beat.

Don't expect BBV to have babies until the 28th.

HERE'S why I thought BBV might have it Tuesday, Tony.  They say it will be available as a download Tuesday.

We get everything a week or 2 early but not Babies and the computer has it listed as the 28th. The other odd thing it has is that no copies are on order. That might change, sometimes it doesn't show us the number we' ll get until 2 or 3 weeks before.

I think this line sums things up nicely:

Added the review link for the Red Riding Trilogy. A remarkable set of films, challenging to watch, very hard to talk about without spoilers. I was glad, though, that I knew very little going in, and I've tried not to ruin it for others.

For those who who have been waiting for a good price, Tales of the Gold Monkey: The Complete Series is only $19.99 this week at Best Buy (both in-store and online):

How annoying! Just got back from Best Buy and NONE of the new releases were on the shelf. Someone had to go in the back and get the cart. Grabbed Ron Burgundy, but they had none of the LIONSGATE exclusives. The guy that does the ad changes got them for me.

Ain't it grand?!?  Gotta love a retailer who goes to the expense and effort to advertise an item as something "you can only get from us" and then not have it in-store at the promised time.

Wonder if anyone else will be having that same experience today...
