Thin Green Vertical Line

Hey gang!

 

My son's 22" AOC LCD--which is about two years old--has had a thin green vertical line appear on screen.  It's about a pixel wide and runs the full height of the screen. It is very bright.   Whenever the set is powered on, it is always there regardless of the input.  It appears about 1/4 or 1/3 from the left edge of the set.

 

About the only thing I could think to try was to unplug the set for awhile.  That accomplished nothing.  Is there anything else that can be done?

 

Oddly, I did a search on this issue before posting this thread and couldn't find anything similar.  It is an AOC L22W898.

When Ive seen this happen on other tv's, you have two options:

 

1) Get the panel repaired

2) Buy another

That's kinda what I figured.  And I suppose the repair is probably not cost effective when compared to buying a replacement...

 

Anyone have any other thoughts?
