Removing Internet Channels from Sony blu-ray player

I have a Sony blu-ray BDP-n460, which includes streaming Internet video from the Home screen.

The problem is that there's 20 or 30 channels (Michael Jackson channel, FIFA World Cup channel, FEARnet channel, GolfLink.com channel, Angelina Jolie in Salt channel...) and I have absolutely no interest in all but 3, at most.

I find it hard to imagine that Sony doesn't provide options for editing this list, but I've been unable to find anything in the manual or online. What's going on?

Matt, I have the new 570.   I wondered the same thing & can't seem to find any way to do so.  And certainly more channels could be added at some point.  Big flaw if you ask me.   Maybe a firmware update could resolve this?

FWIW, I did some checking online and could not find any reference anywhere to customizing the channels that are displayed.  I checked Blu-Ray manuals, as well as scoured the Sony website.  Nothing.

I don't have a Sony player, so don't have any firsthand experience with this feature, but I agree with David, this is a pretty big downside to the feature.

I wonder if Sony will be add or remove the channels through updates.  For example, one of the "channels" along with Netfiix or YouTube is "Salt".

A whole channel devoted to previews for a single movie?

In the past week, it has added at least 2 new channels.  Hulu (basically a place holder saying "coming Fall 2010") and a Yoga channel.  I think it added a couple of music channels as well.   Maybe even more video channels, but haven't been home enough lately to completely confirm.

Since more and more are being added, will they add a firmware update to allow us to manage them?  The ability to re-organize or delete unnecessary channels?  Or will the user just have to scroll and scroll through all of these channels each and every time?

I love the streaming but as more are added, we need a way to organize them.
