Sony Design Change A Surprise To Me

Like my new KDL 46EX700 a lot, but got one surprise. To switch among picture modes - vivid,custom,standard - there's no button on the remote to do it! Have to go into the menu. I confirmed this with Sony support, very sympathetic but it's a "design limitation." I wonder if they did this with other new models? Bummer, I switch modes often. Girl said she'd refer my request for a software upgrade, put it on a spare button.

weird stuff.

you shouldnt be switching between modes anyway!!! LOL

Weird is right. As far back as I can remember TVs always had a "picture" button on the remote.

This new set is an LCD in a bright room, so settings by day are way different than night.

FYI....Just tried my old remote and was able to change the pic mode with it on my 2 day old 60"Ex700.
