Sony str-d990 lights are on but nobody's home

Found a Sony str-d990 at the curb (yes there is probably a reason why it was at the curb!!) It looked in good shape and I needed an extra receiver for my back patio so I grabbed it. It powers up fine and it has levels on the display so I can see signal, however, no sound. I've tried all inputs so I'm guessing it's not an input problem, I've tried all the channels, same deal. The fuses look good, there are two that I found.

I'd still like to salvage it as all I need is a two channel device for music out back.

Any thoughts?

Not something stupid simple like the Mute button being pushed, is it?

That would be nice.......

yeah I wish. Tried that. I'm thinking its a bad board that handles the speaker outputs.
