Top Gear Season 15

Normally, most Americans are waiting for Top Gear to be about 6 months behind on BBC America.  Those of us lucky enough to have someone in the UK could use the web-service or a slingbox (which, btw, is an awesome way to watch TV from around the world, and I still use the bejeesus out of my slingbox in the UK) 

But BBC is mixing it up this year!  For those with Hulu Plus, some titles are being added.  And the BBC has started uploading full segments, and large show swaths of "Top Gear" roughly 1 week behind to Youtube.

So, for those in America, Top Gear Season 15 is on!  You can grab it @ Hulu or Youtube (through the official BBC channels) all legit like!

Yes, BBC, which is publically funded, has no reason to really hold back.  Their participation in HuluPlus and now Youtube are a great tip of the cap to those who want to watch their programming near same time.

And, while it's more comedy then anything else, Top Gear has kept me in stitches for years, and also has had some of the best moments of any show with the challenges.

I will say, I strongly commend the BBC for their very forward look on this and allowing Americans and others to watch through authorized channels.  It's a great kudos to them, and I hope others, especially other publically funded networks, take this step.

The finale segment, a tour of britain in british made sports cars, is surprisingly touching, and has one of the best feel-good endings in a series.

Last nights was pretty good too, the review of the Italia was great carporn. Jeff Goldblum was quite funny as well. They sure packed in the american celebs this series.

 

6 eps is always so short. They should be back soon in the late fall though.

 

Carporn is the right term.. but I did love the entire segment on British sports cars, and it was sad when they visited a manufacturing plant that had been shut down because britains stopped buying british cars.. made me think of the parallels here :)
