HELP! I can't unlink Facebook from the HTF

I keep getting this irritating pop up telling me I must sign in through facebook.  I have followed your (dated) instructions on unlinking to no avail.  I even went into FB and blocked the app.   I have cleared the cache and cookies.   I have chanted and made small animal sacrifice.  Nothing has worked.   Please help.

If you used a squirrel for the sacrifice, that doesn't work, too small of an animal.  All kidding aside, sorry you are having trouble and I'll get that FAQ updated to reflect the changes FB has made.  Have you gone here http://www.facebook.com/editapps.php and tried removing (not just blocking) Home Theater Forum?

Red sqirrels ARE too small to be effective...but I think grey squirrels will get the job done.

Squirrel?? where?!

I tried removing the app to no avail, then I blocked it.

My cat has been avoiding me...

Eric-

I'll get a ticket opened so I can get it looked at by an engineer.  Apologies to the cat, but it problably won't be looked at until Monday.

Just that the squirrels weren't all that happy with some of the earlier posts in this thread:

I'll let Adam handle the serious stuff.

Facebook has a habit of making changes and not telling people, this is another example.  I've escalated the issue, but the fix requires some coding changes on our end.  I'll have a better time frame tomorrow.

Eric- I wish I could say it will be fixed today, but its going to take at least a few days.  Hoping to have it fixed before the next release which is due in approx two weeks.

No worries.  Just glad you are looking into it.   I've been spending less and less time on FB due to these sorts of surprise changes/issues.  Too bad, really, because it used to be fun.

I don't spend much time on FB because of a lack of time (or friends? ).  FB connect is on paper a pretty cool concept, but between privacy settings that block user ids here on the forum and the fact that FB likes to make changes with how it works and never tells us its kind of a pain sometimes.  Thanks for your patience.

Any progress on this ?

Eric-

I'm sorry I didn't close the loop on this.  This has been corrected.  If you are still seeing the problem you need to re-link then unlink your account to fully clear the problem.

This isn't working for me.   I go to my HTF profile to click link, and it says "Your account is linked."  Then a pop-up comes and asks me to login to facebook, but if I click login it says the application is not available.   I look an my application list in facebook and there is no HTF there.

So I am unable to relink and I am unable to unlink.

Hi Eric,

Can you try logging out then logging back in?  I believe that I have unlinked your account for you.

Thanks!

That seems to have fixed it, thanks.   I also downloaded an adon for firefox called stop script, which has been helpful as well.  (Thought I disabled it to test your fix)
