Emptiva XPA 5,Too much amp for SVS (SBS-01s)?

I asked this under "Speakers and Subwoofers" and then realized this might be a more logical forum. I just received my SBS SVS-01 5.1 System.... I love it!!... But.............I have been bitten buy the "hifi bug" great sound is addictive. I can live/love this system for quite some time, and as far as my wife is concerned I have too. But I am now trying to put together a plan for incremental upgrades. I am pleased with the Onkyo as a processor. So, looking way down the road (2 years or so) with an SVS MTS speaker upgrade in mind, How much would I benefit from purchasing an Emotiva XPA 5 amp in the interim, and using it with the SVS SBS-01s? Will I hear much difference with the 01s at all? Is this to much amp for the 01s? (01s rated at 120wpc, XPA is rated at 200wpc 8ohms)? As always all information and opinions are appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Chris,

It is a violation of forum rules to post the same question in multiple locations.

You don't have to. The forum moderators will eventually close one of the threads. No worries.

To answer your question, an exteral amp to power the SBS SVS-01 5.1 System would be overkill to the nth degree.

An external amp is primarily usefull to drive larger speakers that demand more power, not a satelite system like the SBS SVS-01.
