My Mitsubishi HC 1500 fan noise....

So I have noticed that over the last year it seems like my projector is getting louder and louder.  Do you guys have any tips for reducing this? I tried vacuming out the vents when I changed my bulb recently, but it did not seem to help.  Would WD40 on the fan work?

Thanks

DON'T spray WD40 on the fan!!  Are you sure the bulb is not set to "High" power mode? If not, check that first. The fan will be much louder if it's set to High. Is it a high pitched whining noise? If so, the noise is the color wheel(bearings).

i also have the same problem with my hc1500

I thought it was the bulb so i changed it, cleaned out the dust, reset the timer, and made sure my lamp power was set to low.

Still noisy! driving me crazy.

Did you find a fix for yours?

The color wheel problem has a high pitched, squealing type of sound. My Mits. HD1000's color wheel went bad, and the ext. warranty company decided to refund my purchase price instead of repairing it. So then I bought the new HC3800, and I love it. Yes, I'm very glad I bought that 1 year ext. warranty.
