Is this the right projector

I am thinking of buying a Epson PowerLite HD-400lcd porjector for my home theater. I am not able to completly darken the room and am considered with the 16.1 as the only viewing option as most of my viewing will be coming from a dish reciever. Will this unit give me a reasonaly good picture.

That projector came out 4 years ago. What is your budget? Depending on your budget, you can probably do a lot better.

Agreed.  Depending on your budget, this isn't a good choice.  Unless you're finding it near free on Craigslist or somewhere.

You might look for a minimum of a 720P HD projector.   You can find new 720P projectors for $600 sub that are worth considering (Optima's HD66 is a 3D Ready 720P projector).   You might try to find out what you're looking for, the budget you have to deal with, and then make a good choice.

If you're after a cheap 720p projector, look into the Panasonic ax200e. I purchased the machine a little under a year ago and it's going great.
