The upcoming games lineup is still anemic and I've never seen so much $40 shovelware for a system in my life. A lot of 3ds games are so bad, they don't even get reviewed by gaming sites. Ever hear of
jaws:ultimate predator? Neither had I until I saw it in a rack at EB.
I've owned a 3ds since launch, but I've stopped buying games for it after Zelda, except for Super Mario Land, which truth be told doesn't hold a candle to the superlative mario galaxy games. The eshop is an utter joke, its like it was designed as a class project by a bunch of 8 year olds. Does nintendo actually expect people to buy games without any demos whatsoever. Its just pathetic. The company is utterly clueless in the online space.
Resident evil revelations is going to be $50. 50 bucks for a low res version of a series that peaked at RE4. Yeah, I'm really going to be frightened by what's going on in a 3.5inch screen and those tiny speakers. MGS3 for the 3ds, $40. I can get the HD collection for my ps3 or xbox 360 for the same $40. And that's three games in 720p. Somebody's doing drugs here, and it isn't me.
Nintendo needs to get off their high horse and quit being so arrogant. I can't believe they're still charging $40 for launch titles like Nintendogs and Cats, Pilotwings Resort and the tech demo masquerading as a game, Steel Diver. That was the worst launch lineup ever, hands down. I'm a sucker for new tech, so I can't blame anyone but myself for buying a launch unit. The best thing about the 3ds for me are the ten gba games I downloaded via the ambassador program. I'll take those 10 games and pit them against the 3ds library anyday. Man, back when nintendo actually cared about making games, and weren't into gimmicks.
