I cannot figure out what is the best way to do this. Like most people, I own a lot of standard DVDs. I have a Pioneer 563A universal DVD player, a PS3 fatboy and a Panasonic 54" V10 Plasma. The DVD player is connected to the TV via component and the PS3 via HDMI. The receiver is out of the video loop. I have a few noob questions....

Will the TV upconvert from the DVD player or does it have to be an HDMI source?
Should I (and can I) set the PS3 to do the upconverting instead of the TV?
Are TV's and Players rated for the upconverting quality and are the differences significant?

Thanks
