The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--An observation.  I have noticed a propensity on the part of amazon.com to be changing it's price structure to feature prices ending in forty-nine cents (e.g. $20.49).  While I suppose some might say that's their way to have prices slightly lower than the competition (Amazon does do a great job matching & beating competitor's pricing), but I'd argue that it's an indication that those prices are a little bit higher than they might have been if those titles were released a few months ago.

--Best Buy has a Save $10 when you buy BOTH Blu-ray releases of Toy Story & Toy Story 2...OR either TS Combo Pack with ANY OTHER Blu-ray Pixar title.  Must be purchased on same receipt.

Another bizarre sale from Best Buy. You can buy all eight titles separately at 2/$25 and get the whole set for $100. Even at the "regular" sale price of $14 each, to buy all eight separately is only $112.  But if you actually buy the box set, it's $140.

Better be one heck of a box holding those 8 titles for $40 extra.

Thanks again Mike & Patrick - your work is very much appreciated!

Big week with a bunch of needs (ok, more like wants and desires). I would like to get (all on BD):

  • The Blind Side
  • The African Queen
  • Toy Story 1 & Toy Story 2 (These should be $16 combined at Target this week after discount and coupons, correct? TS1 $23 + TS2 $23 - $10 Purchase Both - $10 TS1 Coupon - $10 TS2 Coupon). Awesome deal on the pair!  Also, I've heard that each will contain Movie Cash for one admission to Toy Story 3. Can anyone confirm this?

I'll rent:
  • The Men Who Stare at Goats
  • Fantastic Mr. Fox

I didn't pick-up 2012 or Couples Retreat when they were released because the prices were too high, and wouldn't you know it that this is the week that they drop in price.  Not good timing, so I'll probably still hold off on these for a while more.

Thanks for the Roundup.  Getting Blind Side & both Toy Story blu's.   I'll be getting TS 1&2 at Toys R Us.  They have them for $21.99 & if you buy both $16.99 apiece.  Plus if you preorder them both by Monday you get an instant $15 off of any Disney dvd or blu ray.  Then go back the next day & pay the remainder on TS 1&2 using 2 $10 Disney coupons.  Comes to $6.99 apiece (no matter what)  + the $15 credit if you preorder.    Not sure what I'll use the $15 dollars credit on Monday for but there are a number of titles I haven't upgraded to blu  yet being a recent bd convert.

Yes I can.

Well...here's the wording in the Target ad:

Quote:
FREE Toy Story 3 movie ticket in each.  See package for details.

The Best Buy ad doesn't mention it.

Thanks Mike!  After the combined discount and the coupons and the Toy Story 3 movie tickets and the Exclusive DVD-ROM game, it's like Target is giving the BD's to you!

Is anyone aware of any coupons available for The Blind Side?  Based on reviews this is a must have (want/desire) for our family.
Mike, I believe the Disney coupons for Toy Story 1 & 2 are $5 apiece, not $10.

Thanks for the roundup as always :)

Great family film...although there's a quick reference or two that might get the attention of young ones.  Bullock really was quite good in this one.  Kind of a boilerplate, feel-good sports film...but her performance raises it above standard fare.

Sorry.  Haven't heard about any coupons.  Wish I had.

Not so fast oh jumpy Moderator person.

There are $10 off coupons available for TS and TS2 from Disney Movie Rewards site.

 disney.go.com/disneymovierewards/

Log In (or register for Free Account)

Enter UPC of TS and/or TS2 in the "Enter Code" box on the right of the screen, this should take you to a page to print the $10 off coupons (can print 2 coupons for each movie)

Examples:
UPC for TS 786936294507
UPC for TS2  786936294521

Toys R Us still seems to have the best National price -- 21.99 each with a $10 discount if you buy both.  So  $6.99 each after coupon (plus tax if required).    Apparently Fry's has a 19.99 price for each with the $10 Both Discount, but apparently Fry's doesn't always accept coupons even if you can get to the B&M stores.

Can anybody tell me...is this Toy Story worth a blind buy?
Abso-freakin'-lutely  And Toy Story 2 may be even better.  I can't afford the upgrades right now, but I'll definitely be picking up The African Queen this week!
What a surprise that Mike used that picture from Toy Story for the Round Up.

I'm definitely picking up Toy Story and Toy Story 2 on Blu-ray. I'll probably grab The African Queen and Mad Men: Season Three on Blu-ray at some point. I assume when the new season starts in the summer, there will probably be a pretty decent sale.

Thanks for the prices, guys!

Did you just sandbag the whole forum and more than one took the bait?   6years and 2700 posts surely make this a bit suspicious do
post #20 of 72
Okay, so if I have this straight:

Toy Story 1/2 at TRU...$21.99 x 2 = $43.98 - $10 discount for buying 2 = $33.98 - $10 x 2 Disney upgrade combo = $13.98 for both.  Plus $15 to put toward something else.

Consider the Amazon "pretty good" deal cancelled and I'm hopping down to TRU in the morning.

Mad Men and African Queen can both wait until the prices come down.  MM prolly before S4 starts in the summer.

I think we can all be assured Eric was having some fun (and maybe forgot a smiley).

David:  Thanks for posting that info about the Disney Movie Rewards coupons.  Some people think that by the time they're done with this purchase the Disney Company will be owing them money!

It was more of an "inside joke" for Mike...he's such a TS fan that I thought I would have a little fun with him.   I am glad that SOMEONE figured it out!

BTW, I already have a "date" to take my niece and nephew to TS3D when it opens...and I made the request to take THEM!
Yes I fell for "the inside joke"   I guess I'm too used to members who want to know why there are still black bars on their widescreen TVs!  Oh, andI almost forgot... I gotta get Mad Men Season 3 as well!
Finally grabbed Zombieland from Target.
Thanks for the prices gents!

TAMI Show on Amazon has dropped to $11.99
post #26 of 72

Enter UPC of TS and/or TS2 in the "Enter Code" box on the right of the screen, this should take you to a page to print the $10 off coupons (can print 2 coupons for each movie)

This does not seem to work for the TS Box.

EDIT : I take that back. You need to enter the smaller numbers to the left and right of the bar code.

Only worth $10 tho.  Would it be wrong to post the UPC codes here?

I'm doing the TS combo preorder deal w/ TRU as well.  Picked up Princess and the Frog 3-disc BD last Friday w/ the $15 credit and various promo/discount/coupon deals for a net price of ~$7+tax on PatF w/ $10 deposit toward the TS preorder already included.

So for the TS preorder pickup, I should be paying ~$22x2 - $10 (for combo purchase) - $10x2 (for upgrade coupons) - $10 (for preorder deposit) - whatever other coupons TRU allows.   IF TRU only takes the pair of upgrade coupons, it looks like my net price at pickup will still just be ~$4+tax.

For those who still haven't preordered yet, I noticed they had the newly reissued Miyazaki anime DVDs for ~$20 each.  If you don't already own them all, one of them might make a very worthwhile choice for the $15 credit you get for the TS combo preorder.  Heck, I was even tempted to make an additional preorder so I could pick up My Neighbor Totoro for ~$5+tax and maybe give away the additional TS combo as a present.

Based on personal experience, Fry's normally accepts manufacturer coupons; however, their policy is to not allow you to stack a MC on top of any other (in-store) discount/promo--IOW, Fry's will let you choose either the $10/both discount or redeem the two manufacturer coupons for TS/TS2...but not let you do both--especially if the MC explicitly states that it (the coupon) can't be used in conjunction with any other offer...unfortunately the two TS coupons have this wording.  Of course you could still try to see if you can do both and hope that you don't get a cashier who'll actually take the time and effort to read the coupon redemption rules.  Then again, it would appear that TRU has the best offer anyway so my post about Fry's MC acceptance policy is somewhat pointless, as far as the TS/TS2 deal is concerned.

I believe someone has already posted them earlier in this thread, but even if it weren't allowed for the codes to be posted here, I'm sure it would not be too hard to find them on Google.
