Rear and center speaker not working for Sony home theater system

Hi All,
I am new to this forum.  I have Sony Bravia DAV-HDX275 home theater system and the challenge is no matter how much I try the center and rear speakers do not respond at all.  I've checked all the connections and they all look fine.  I am trying to connect my Samsung LCD TV to this home theater system and it is becoming frustrating.

Any help is highly appreciated.

How are you connecting it?  What audio source are you using when trying to get sound from the rear and center speakers?

That system's a little tricky.  When using 2 channel sources it defaults to 2 channel stereo mode so sound only comes out of the left and right front speakers and the sub. 

See page 40 in your owner's manual to see how to apply surround processing to incoming 2 channel sources like your tv set.
