I have recently been looking for some speakers to do 2.1 or just stereo duty for a short amount of time in a bedroom. The set will be expanded in the future to a 5.1 or 7.1 system. I am looking at the PSB Image system, as this is about the price I want to pay for the system. I want to purchase the B6's for the time being and move them to the surround duty when I upgrade with a pair of towers and then center after that.
The question that I have is regarding the PSB S speakers. Would these be better suited to do the surround duty in place of the B6's? I don't want to buy the B6's if the S's will be better filling this surround spot later on. I would rather not sacrifice the future sound of the system to just get something to fit for now. If so, this might force me to choose the T5's or T6's as the first purchase instead, and just go to the S's when I need to upgrade. Or would the B6's do just fine in the rears when I decide to upgrade?
Anyone heard a big enough difference between the T5's and T6's to justify the extra cost?
