VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA--SEASON 4 VOL.2 - Page 3

Yes, July is here... and I'm hoping our FOX Insider(s) will read this and offer some news.

Anything official (good or bad) would be welcome at this point.

We've just heard about Mary Tyler Moore S7, so that's October out.

I've lost track of which months they released the past ones.

First Season: September 2002

Second Season : July 2005

Third Season : January 2006

Fourth Season :  June 2006

Fifth Season : October 2009

Sixth Season : February 2010

Seventh Season: October 2010

So this show has had just as much of a mess, even more perhaps, that Voyage - it had two three year gaps, one between the first and second seasons (probably everyone thought it was a one-season flop and cancelled), then "regular" releases followed by another three year gap after season four ("OMG they cancelled it halfway through!")

Apparently the last couple sold well which is why they're upping the rate.

Voyage by contrast had very regular releases up until the final season, where it all went horribly wrong. A half-season every four months for two years, then a seventeen month gap between S3V2 and S4V1, now no news for the final half-season, so the gap will at least nineteen months, probaby longer.

The last three seasons came out so fast because Oprah demanded it when they had a cast reunion on her show on May 16, 2008. Fox kicked around a complete series boxset and a season 5-7 boxset before finally putting out the individual season sets. So if you want your show wrapped up, get the stars on Oprah

Well, congrats to the MTM fans!  I’m happy for them, whether or not they needed Oprah’s help to achieve their goal.

Say, maybe if we can get LeBron James interested in VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, we might see some action as well!

After all, I understand Mr. James can be somewhat influential when he wants to be.

How about it, LeBron, want those final 13 episodes?  Call us!

Better yet… Call FOX!

I can think of a lot of people in Cleveland who'd like to send him on a Voyage To The Bottom Of Lake Erie!

So this is where I am suppose to come to eat my Humble Pie.  Ok I am here so serve it to me.  Joe should be the one to do it. I still support everything he said about what this thread should be.  I want what Joe and all of you do. The final 13.  I feel I am talking about BSG.

Ok I have to be to the point make a statement and then shut up.  20th Century Fox read this thread and look at the people who have viewed the old one.  You have buyers out there who as Richard stated waiting to push the buy button on the last 13.

Fox please rescue us from those old sfy channel prints. I am sick of the edited version of these stories.  I am also sick of talk talk to my friends to buy the existing episode's. Later catching Hell because they find fault with an episode.

I am here Guys and I am here to stay. I will still lobby for this show's release.

Please don't kick me out!!!

I want those last 13 episodes too, but as I've said before, in the tradition of it sometimes being better to light a candle than to curse the darkness, it's sometimes better to appreciate more the 88% of the series that is available for us to enjoy when we need a Voyage fix.

walmart is carrying 2 packs of  the x files, the unit, and the shield is going for 19.99 a season. these seasons are all repackaged which costs money. If Fox can spend money on repackaging why can't they release the last 13 episodes of voyage?

actually that might be Walmart that packeged them that way NOT Fox

I still haven't heard from Joe.  He might come here and throw me overboard.  I cannot swim for very long without getting tired.  The years are catching up to me 50s.  I just wanted to post the phone number and email for Fox just in case you guys wished to rattle cages.

Foxconnect@orderassistance.com  phone 1-888-223-2369.  Remember to submit your name when calling.

I just want to state once more I will not badger Fox with email or calls anymore. I want new fans or old who have not asked if we get the final 13 to contact Fox.  Fox needs to know how many of us want the show.  The same goes for Peyton Place.  I have been much much to involved with trying to get these two shows released.

I need others to come forward for both series

Mark

Mark:

Throw you overboard!  Hardly!  More like pipe you back aboard!  Sometimes I just get too busy with real life matters to post regularly.

Your contact information for FOX has been useful in the past – and will be useful in the future!  Thanks, for posting it!

And, besides, throwing one overboard is so crude… if I were so inclined, I’d take a page from Malachi Throne’s “Blackbeard” and do that “walking the plank on a submarine” bit, by sending the offending party out the airlock with 60 seconds of air!

Oh, wait… “Return of Blackbeard” is still unreleased on DVD!   How ‘bout it, FOX!

Thanks Joe the great reply!!!  Ya I have been doing what Jack here had suggested.  I think I started watching in the spring.  Starting with Season 1 and going in order.  I am almost done with season 3. I forgot how dumb the flame episode was.  When the flame makes the guy invisiable and they fight the invisiable man. I have watch season 4 part 1 so many times.  The only one I hate is the flower alien.  We need more episodes Fox!!

VOYAGE is coming.....hang tight

MY GOSH  OUR DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE!!!!!

I've never had any doubts that we'd ultimately see the final VOYAGE release.  It's always just been a matter of being patient.

In fact, I've secretly hoped that FOX would in fact take their time and really (and I mean REALLY, this time) find the true, unaired pilot to go as an extra.  Let's face it, this IS the last release for VOYAGE unless they repackage a full-season box set, and though they've promised us the unaired pilot, we continue to get the jury-rigged version with the season two opening credits that we've already gotten three previous times.

Mr. Finn, I just thanked you over in THE SIMPSONS thread – and now I’m even more pleased to thank you here!

You’ve just “made the day” for a number of us on this forum!!!

Voyage finished, MTM finished, Bill Cosby Show finished, Dragnet, Ironside and McMillan and Wife restarted, Ellery Queen coming.......this has turned out to be a very good year for TV on DVD after all!

This isn't any real news - I would have found it unlikely that FOX would abandon the series with one volume left, even with the long gap between releases.

Some people just don't get the dynamics of how a studio and the home video divisions work. "Voyage" is just one library property among 1000's of ther shows and films, current and past that are viable for release on DVD and Blu-Ray from TCF. I understand that market and economic factors can affect even the most popular series from having steady video releases.

Gee, Now everyone is going to badger Finn even more about PEYTON PLACE :)

This is excellent news

This is a great news! I would like to finished my collection of voyage to the bottom of th sea!!

woo hoo. I can't wait.

Thanks Mr Finn, I really hope that this is the great news we've all been waiting for...but...I'm afraid I'm holding off the celebrations until I see that press release from Fox.

I'm not casting any aspersions on Mr Finn and it's great that someone from Fox takes the time to read and respond in these forums (after all, if anyone knows, he should!) but honestly there have been way too many rumours and false hopes raised over this.

"Voyage is coming"...that could mean anything, and at the moment I'm going to presume that at best it just means that Fox haven't actually officially abandoned that last set.

Anything more than that really needs something much more specific, like I said, I'm not getting my hopes up until I see that press release with a date and maybe the box art.

Sorry to sound such a downer, but that's the way I feel.

The last time we got a "we haven't abandoned the show" we had to wait what another nine months before S4V1 in March 2009.

I have to agree with Richard on this one.  While Finn's comments have raised my hopes from a "very low" back to a respectable "optimistic", I'm painfully aware of the fact that studios can have something planned and then later abandon those plans.  It's happened many, many times before and it will surely happen many, many times again.  Therefore I reserve the right to be ecstatic until I see/read an official Fox press release.

Gary "keeping my fingers crossed that Finn is correct on this one" O.

^^

Seconded!

Untill I hear the "Official" Word on http://tvshowsondvd.com, I'll have to play the role of the "Doubting Thomas". I admit things are looking up, let's hope that this isn't "A Train going the other direction".

As far as I am concerned, from the moment I heard that FOX Insiders were reading these threads, all I wanted from one of them was confirmation that VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA would either continue – or was officially abandoned.

It was the “not knowing either way” that was the most unpleasant part.  Do we go on posting here in the hopes it does some good, or move on to more productive endeavors?

Not only did Mr. Finn tell us that VOYAGE was NOT being abandoned, but that it “…is coming”.

I find that to be excellent news, as should you all!  In my own profession, I can’t always tell a client when a project will be completed (or, perhaps I am not AT LIBERTY to tell!)

I think we owe Mr. Finn the same courtesy – and thank him for what he DID say!

We should not respond to his statement with skepticism at such an early date!

After all, he gave us at HTF what amounts to an exclusive “scoop”!  I wish more studios would do the same!

If I was discourteous to Mr Finn I apologise...but I don;t think I was...?

I also reiterate my thanks to Mr Finn for taking the time to read and post in these forums.

To repeat, I feel much more optimistic about that final release than I did before, but experience over many years of collecting DVD sets has taught me that it's best not to get too excited until there has been at least the official press release. Or better yet, when you've actually got the thing in your hands!

At the moment, I just consider this confrimation that the series hasn't been abandoned and that there is good reason to believe the final 13 episodes are on their way...somewhen.
