I'm looking to set up a very basic multiroom audio distribution... single source, to at most 4 zones.  I know there are multitudes of different ways to achieve this... I already have in my living room a HTS with an auxiliary output, which I intend to use as the main source for all audio.  I want to distribute this throughout the house.  What I have in mind, is taking the output from the HTS into an amplifier like the Onkyo M-282, and then running that through a speaker selector.  Is this an appropriate/safe application?  I have easy access to run wires in the attic and would run from the speaker selector to in-ceiling speakers in each room.  I'm just not well versed on the nuances between amps & preamps, receivers, selectors, etc.

Thanks for any advice!
