Hey guys...  Finally beat this damn boss... Thx for the help... I changed my main Paradigm to Delta, and Snow to a Sentinal.. He kept using Stealgurad, and it protected Lightning from getting knocked out the the falling ice...  Took about 5 minutes.. I took maybe 4 attacks.. Phew!!!

Nice - sentinels are very nice... you'll come to love them later on.

I'm so torn on this game...  part of me really doesn't like some of the changes made to the "FF Formula", but at the same time i find my self enjoying it..

Currently i'm about 26 hours in right at the begginging of chapter 10..   I was stuck on the Chapter 9 boss battle for quite some time.. i eventually had to grind my levels up and buy the strategy guide (lol)

Chapter 10 is fun, Chapter 11 is where it really opens up.  I'm down to one trophy left - treasure hunter :(  I just need to grind up some more gil.

I finished the story late Friday night, working on missions, filling out my crystarium roles, and getting materials to upgrade the weapons.  I'm at about 64 or so hours right now.  I lucked out and got a 5-star rating on the final boss so I don't have to go through that dungeon again for the trophy.  I'm going to try to get the platinum trophy but not sure how much grinding I can really take.

I got the final trophy on Saturday - playtime was 96 hours - time invested was likely more then that (since reloads don't count).

Time it takes to go back and 5 star the final boss is nothing compared to 5 staring all the missions and getting all the weapons.

I 5 starred the final boss the first time I played against him so I don't need to worry about going back to do that.  Right now, I'm leveling up, trying to get some trapezohedrons, and finish the missions.  I have all but 5 of them 5 starred, and 4 of those I haven't even tried yet.

My girlfriend and I made a deal when this came out. Since this one and God of War III were only a week apart, we agreed I could play through God of War III and she could play through this one. The problem is that she has a lot less free time to play than I do (she's a teacher and is now having end-of-year crunch, prepping students for AP exams and such) so I'm now waiting for her to be able to play some more so I can see more story. :)

I eventually started my own game so I could get familiar with everything. It took me only about four days to catch up to where she is (about halfway through chapter 8, I think), so I had to stop there to keep my promise. I love the Paradigms. Love the characters and am happy to see Square's still awesome at character development -- both Hope and Lightning start off as very objectionable but are much more interesting as they develop.

The graphics are amazing, too. The Eidolon Parade cutscene in Nautilus was just gorgeous. If that isn't art, I don't know what is.

Overall, having lots of fun with this one!
