With my updated homebrew speaker setup. This is the best result I've achieved to date. The Denon is very dated (8 years old - bought new) but reliable (Made in Korea??) and the NJ built 20 year old Adcom Amp? Sounds like the day I bought it (8 years ago used). The Jensen is no the greatest solution for the subs but I rather not waste the Adcoms on bass alone. The Denon's built in amp is fine for CTR & surround but new updated speakers (see post (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/280892/a-quick-update-on-home-theatre-no-3) show the Denon's limitations. The Adcoms are the best budget Audiophile Amps (I've owned a 545II previously) I've heard to date.
What my setup lacks is DTS 96/24 capability. My Pioneer DV-578A does not output a DTS 96/24 through its analog output (am I wrong?) although it does sound better in DTS than my Denon. Does the OPPO Universal Blu-Ray do this? The spec doesn't say no nor does it say yes.
Any thoughts out there?
