Good Combination 24-25" Monitor/TV

Hey all, looking for a nice 24-25" combo unit that will double effectively as both a PC monitor and a HDTV for my small den. I spend a lot of time in this room as both my PC and my music gear are here. I'm also adding a Blu-ray player so I can watch BD movies and connecting to an antenna for the several available OTA channels to catch the occasional newscast or sporting event.

From what I can gather it seems that HDTVs that double as monitors are better at being TVs, while monitors that double as TVs are better at being a PC monitor. One that does both well would be nice! In any event, I'd like an onboard ATSC tuner, 1080p is a must, at least 1 HDMI input, and must be under $400.

This is about the best thing I've found within my budget so far, is there anything better out there that I'm missing?

As far as i can tell thats prolly the best your gonna get, as it is not only a monitor/tv but a Samsung. For the price its hard to beat.

Well, the Samsung P2570HD arrived today. 24.6" 1080p. Very good looking, stylish monitor. Plugged my PC (Windows XP) right in and works great even without loading the software. My new Blu-ray player isn't here yet so I can't opine on that yet. Was all set to hook up my outdoor antenna only to discover that the DirecTV guy disabled my antenna by losing half the cable so I have to wait until tomorrow and a new cable to report on that. A nice step up from my 19" Acer.

I'll update as warranted. So far so good.

Okay, I hooked up the antenna and the TV quickly scanned the available channels. Get about 15 channels OTA, six of which are HD. They look great, but vary depending upon the channel and source material of course. Standard def looks okay. One thing I like is that the TV automatically sets the AR for 4x3 stuff so I don't have to do anything there. I don't like stretched 4x3 so I'm happy about that.

There was a delivery issue with my BD player so I finally called Fedex and it will be here today. In the meantime I stole our BD-35 from the living room to check out some Blus and they look fantastic! This past week I've (re)watched Braveheart, Master and Commander, Contact, and a few episodes of Planet Earth. All were stunning.

So aside from the lackluster sound (you will need external speakers for adequate sound) this set is a great choice to do double duty as a monitor and TV for an office or small room, or as a bedroom TV. 1080p sets are rare in this size range so I'm very happy with this set and recommend it to anyone looking for the same.
