integrated amp to power my center speaker

Hi! Is it safe to do this?:

I already have a two channel amp powering my Front speakers. I would like to free up my pre/pro/receiver to rear channel duty only by adding my lying around integrated amp to power my center channel. Here is my plan: I'll split the center pre-out of my receiver with a Y-cable then to feed the L/R of the integrated amp input then connect the L/R speaker terminals of the amp to the center speaker.

Will this utilized the full power of the amp or I'll just stick on using just one channel of the integrated amplifier (either Left or Right)?

any thoughts will be highly appreciated.

thanks.

Not sure I understand.  Your center has one set of terminals on it (a positive and a negative)?  How do you intend to take the integrated amp outputs for 2 channels into one on the center channel?

Probably only one channel of the amp can be used.

Unless your integrated amp is intentionally designed to be used in what's known as "bridged mode", connecting both of its speaker outputs to the center speaker will fry the amp. Check the amp's manual. It'll describe in detail how to use "bridged mode" if it has it. If it's not mentioned, then you'll cause it to release all of its "magic smoke". ;)
