Pioneer elite fd23 won't play some of my blus!

I just picked this up cause I got a killer deal.  Unfortunately, it thinks "King Kong" is an "unkown disc."  Any suggestions?  Will this be fixed with a firmware update? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if there's a firmware update for it. That may fix it. Also, make sure there's no fingerprints on the disc.

I had a problem with the universal title hellboy 2. it would not play in the insignia or my panasonic. dont know if it was a disc problem or a player problem. sometimes it can be either one.
if you can.. borrow or rent the same title and see if that works.
