Subwoofer Operation on Pioneer Elite SC-27

My first post so hello everyone.

I've just purchased a Pioneer Elite SC-27 and I'm very impressed so far. I'm trying to understand why my subwoofer works with some of my DVD's and not with others. Specifically, my subwoofer works just fine with Pink Floyd's "Pulse" DVD but not with The Eagle's Farewell Tour #1. The Eagles DVD says it's a DTS 5.1 surround / PCM Stereo and the Pink Floys DVD says it's a 5.1 surround mix Dolby Digital.  This issue didn't exist on my older Onkyo A/V receiver.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Are your speakers set to large or small in the receiver's configuration.

THAT WAS IT!

Thanks much Robert.  I worked on that all evening and learned a lot about my receiver in the process but that never occurred to me. When you have something new you never know if it's something you've done wrong of if there is something wrong with the new equipment.

Thanks again Robert

John

Thanks Robert, that was the problem.

I didn't know if I had a problem with my new receiver or a problem with the operator.

Thanks again!
