I would like to set up a new audio system at my home. However, being a newbie i'd like some help regarding what type of receiver i should buy.
I have a 5.1 system connected to my TV and DVD, and also 3 in-ceiling speakers in 3 different rooms. Assuming a receiver is needed (i'm not even sure about that), is it possible to have the DVD player (Samsung DVD-1080P9) as input for the media, and the 5.1 setup as well as the 3 other in-ceiling speakers as output?
My ideal is to have the 5.1 system work whenever i'm watching TV, but the other 3 speakers work (not necessarily simultaneously) whenever i'd like to listen to music.
