Projector shaking when door is opened/closed

Hey guys,

I currently have a ceiling-mounted projector and everytime that I open or close the door, the projector shakes for a few seconds. Surely this can't be good for the unit/bulb?

It has a large extension pole fitted. I think it's nearly a metre long. Could this be the issue?

Maybe something like this would fix it?

Here's the setup:

$100 sounds like a lot to fix this trouble.  If looks aren't important, I'd try bracing the pole back to the wall.  Or, building some sort of shelf to set the projector on instead of the wiggly pole.

Unfortunately, my parents wouldn't let me build a shelf at the back of the room. They really wouldn't let me brace it either, they're worried about extra holes etc. (for re-sale).

So a neat solution is the best solution in this case. I have to get the installer back to see why the image is moving (he said it's because of heat), so if you have any ideas (I will give him your suggestion about bracing) then I will pass them on to him
