Sony STR DN1000 Speaker Output Question

Thread Starter
I just purchased a DN1000 and I can't seem to get the speaker output to work properly (or at least the way I want it to). I have 2 front, center, 2 surround and a sub. I also have two outdoor speakers. I have the outdoor speakers connected to Surround Back/Front B/Bi-Amp connections (speakers F&G on page 19 of the manual. I should be able to press the speaker button to select "B only" so just the outdoor speakers play, but no matter what settings I change it only plays them all.
Am I wrong to think the SP B can be used to output only those two speakers?

This isn't the same as the Speaker A and Speaker B that was used in older receivers. This is Sony's way of configuring the Surround Back channels amplifiers. I'm not sure how it works either but it doesn't look like you can power speakers in another room without the front speakers in the main room also being powered. It shouldn't be this confusing, but it is.
