I bought it from Amazon UK.  So I assume it's the UK version.  To be honest, I didn't know what versions were out there.

I got it from Amazon UK.  The price was great.  I only paid $16.69 USD total (shipping and all).  It was my first time ordering from Amazon UK.  Heck of a lot cheaper than Best Buy.

I'm in the UK anyway, so the region isn't an issue, but I can't confirm whether or not it's locked.
Appears to have the same extras as the US release, but isn't an MPEG-2 job and also supposedly has the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1,(the US release is a 'director approved' 1.85:1).

Just bought Shaun of the Dead and 1408.

Princess & the Frog (3-disc) -- yeah, I got kids
Whip It -- just received this bought used (in excellent condtion as usual) from Greg Burton in the HTF forsale section

Just watched Whip It (as the wife thought it would be fun and wanted to see it asap).  Loved it.  Brought a few tears to my eyes -- yeah, those kinds of poignant, "true" moments do tend to move me,  and my wife pokes fun about it on occasion as she's not like that.

BTW, I finally got around to watching 3:10 to Yuma the other night, and that was excellent as well -- and the wife also liked it a lot.

Now that you mention it, I saw Whip It on sale at Best Buy this week for $15.

La Femme Nikita -- actually, it's on its way from Amazon; couldn't resist the upgrade for just ~$10 (less whatever I can get for selling the DVD in a stoop sale)

Yeah, I was originally gonna just order it from Amazon or something for $15+tax, but ended up just buying it from Greg for $14 straight the other day.

I may need to return Princess and the Frog though after seeing that TrU deal for Toy Story 1/2 preorder that TonyD mentioned in the bargain thread -- that is some crazy coupon/deal stacking.

Pre-ordered Avatar, Minority Report and Apollo 13.

Blade Runner

have fun, its an awesome movie on blu-ray....

the guy who bought HEAT on blu - have fun with that, its a wicked film!!

Firefly. - simply awesome - on Blu it truly comes alive - the first BLU I bought when I got my LG Blu-Ray player as I'm a huge fan of Firefly and Serenity

I just purchased the following 2 classics:

"North by Northwest: 50th anniversary edition" (which I admit I have never seen, but its been so highly rated...)

and "gone with the wind : 70th anniversary edition)" (which I also admit I have never seen, but its been so highly rated...)

and pre-ordered:

"Avatar"

"Saving Private Ryan"

I have both of these on SD-DVD, and have great expectations for the HD versions....

Simple? The opposite of legal is,,,,

...add to that the word "download" and there's the most likely answer right there.

Of course the very idea of seeing it in anything less than a theater or a studio produced DVD or Blu-ray is more than a little vomit-worthy, but that's my humble opinion.
