Note: this thread was originally used for a contest.  There are a lot of good characters here so I am renaming the thread and reopening it for non-contest participation.

List one of your favorite characters from a Paramount movie along with the title of the movie its from.

This portion of the contest is now open.  Congratulations to Mike Caronia, ghaist1 (Glenn), and Joseph J.D. who are our winners from the first week.

Okay, so this is an obvious choice...

Character: Indiana Jones

Movie: Raiders of the Lost Ark

And here's a thread on the name change (from Raiders of the Lost Ark to Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark):

I could never name ONE favorite from among the thousands of great characters that have come down from the mountain and into our theaters and homes.  How can you choose from among roles made immortal by the likes of Harrison Ford, William Shatner, Mae West, Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake?  I'd be hard pressed to pick just one character from Jack Lemmon's work for the studio.

But, the idea it to pick one, so I give you Rufus T. Firefly, the quintessential Groucho Marx character in quintessential Marx Bros. film - Duck Soup

"Remember, you're fighting for this woman's honor, which is probably more than she ever did."

Ooops.  I forgot to link to a review

Regards,

Joe

Hubert Hawkins, The Court Jester, as played by Danny Kaye.

No official HTF review that I can find, but some discussion of this fine VistaVision film is here, including some comments from RAH:

Sadly, it's now been 5 more years since that discussion, and still no new edition. Sure would like to see a restored version of this classic released on Blu-ray.
