Today is Hans Ruedi's 70th birthday!  You can read about it at www.hrgiger.com (probably NSFW!)

HR modified his original artwork to become the monster in Alien and also designed Sil in 'Species' among many other accomplishments.

Hmmm, I must have him confused with another artist. I thought he was the one that did the 4-dimensional drawings, like the impossible staircases, but looking at those links above I don't see any work like that.
