More classic Yogi Bear shows, specials and movies on DVD to tie-in with the Yogi Bear movie...

I think due to the 2010 live-action/CGI film Yogi Bear, I think Warner Bros. should of course revive Yogi and friends for a new media franchise for the 21st century and join fellow revived H-B toon stars, Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry. We wanted to see more Yogi television shows, televised movies and television specials on DVD (1987's Yogi's Great Escape, 1973's Yogi's Gang, 1988's Yogi and the Invasion of the Space Bears, 1988's The New Yogi Bear Show, 1988's Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose, 1978's Yogi's Space Race, 1982's Yogi Bear's All-Star Comedy Christmas Caper, 1991's Yo Yogi!, 1980's Yogi's First Christmas (standand release) and 1985's Yogi's Treasure Hunt). What do you think?

Well I want to see Yogi's Gang once more; loved the theme song and the fact that all the characters were on that ark. Loved that show. And parents' groups are always moaning about the fact that there's "nothing good on tv" while Yogi's Gang sits in the vault, along with all its stories about saving the environment and being kind towards others :P

What's the one where they basically make a floating Noah's Ark to try to leave their homes (Jellystone Park in the case of Yogi and Boo Boo) to find a happy place that is better than their current homes?

If that's representative of these, I think I'd pass. Tried watching that recently on Boomerang and didn't enjoy it much. Was pretty poor compared to the classic cartoons from the 60s.

Is Casper's First Christmas on DVD? I watched that on Boomerang in December and it's held up well.

It was called "Yogi's Ark Lark" and it was one of many Pilots that was played on what was called The Saturday Superstar Movie, which played on ABC during the Mid 1970s. One Episode, called "Lassie and the Spirit of Thunder Mountain", went on to become Lassie's Rescue Rangers.

I doubt that any of this will happen, unfortunately. If they were planning to follow-up the Yogi box set then they likely would have done it by now. A movie coming out isn't going to make them go to the trouble of cleaning up more cartoons if the original box set didn't sell well.

The good news, if you can call it that, is that some of those Yogi animated movies and specials air on Boomerang from time to time. The Christmas special was on in December.

I'd like to suggest that someone change the original line of this thread as it gives the impression that these shows are actually coming to DVD as opposed to fans simply wanting them to. It's very misleading to readers not to mention way too long.

If they were to release the second DVD box set of Huckleberry Hound and the compete Yogi's Treasure Hunt, I'd be pretty happy.

I am hoping that with the movie coming out in December that WHV will release other Yogi Bear DVD's later this year, or around the time when the movie is released on home video.  It is a natural for studios to release material like this to help promote the movie and draw attention to it.  Sometimes it is in the movie's budget for this kind of promotional push as well.  I have my fingers crossed.  Also, I hope everyone picked up "Yogi's First Christmas" on DVD available through the Warner Archive collection.  The print is very good and it is a movie worth owning on DVD.

I'm Confident Warner Video has DVD plans for Yogi Bear as well and I think H-B's track record for movies that came to the big screen speaks for itself.

The Movie was pushed back to July 6th. June 28th Hanna Barbera released six more:

Microchip Chump, Elroy's Mob, Las  Venus, Astro's Top Secret,
No Space For Sprockets, and Good Little Scouts

1994

The Flintstones hit the big screen in May. In April Hanna-Barbera released:

Babe in Bedrock, Fearless Fred Strikes Again, Hooray For Hollyrock, and Wacky Inventions

In Sept we saw four more:

Rocky Bye Babies, Bedrock N Roll, Fred Takes The Field, and Dino's Two Tales

2001

Josie and the Pussycats hit the big screen in April. Warner released two:

Chile Today, Hot Tamale and The Melody Memory Mix-Up

I bet they will release a set or two at the time of the new movie's release.  Unfortunately, it will probably be of the 4 or 5 episodes single disc variety.
