help with speaker placement

I am in the process of setting up a 2:40.1 screen and have decided against acoustically  transparent material for fear of loss of brightness and image quality in a room that will not always be completely dark. The screen is 120" wide. There is NO space on the sides for the front channel spekers,so they will have to go either below or above the screen. The bottom edge of the screen is 24" above the carpet. Where should I place the R<L and center speakers? The speakers are M&K 150's if that makes a difference. Thanks

I've installed many M&K 150 systems in client's systems just like yours.  They are actually fairly boundary friendly.

The distance they are apart should be determined by your seating arrangement, start as you would with stereo speakers to provide coverage to the "money seats" first.  They should be as high off the ground as possible (not much here) but I much prefer below the screen if you will sit relatively close to the screen.  The area between you and the speakers on the floor should have some kind of thick carpet and pad to reduce high frequency reflections.  All the speakers should be toe'd in and up toward you.  If there is a second row then you will obscure both high and mid frequencies but it can't be helped.

Since they will be near the floor and possibly near the front wall you would benefit from equalization.  I'd also add acoustical materials that would be heavy on absorption frequencies of the boundary effects of 200Hz to 500Hz or so.

This is a first run with very little info and a bunch of assumptions on my part.
