Debating on how I should expand my Focal Dome 5.1 surround.

Hi Everyone, I was hoping to get some feedback regarding how I should proceed.

I currently have the Focal Dome 5.1 speakers with 100w 8" bash subwoofer running through my Sony STR-DA4400ES receiver.
I want to add two more Dome Satellites but wonder if it's worth the extra money to buy the 2.1 version instead of the 2.0.  Is it worth it to have two subs?  L & R?  Because of the round top they cannot be stacked.  I would appreciate your suggestions.

I was also thinking, if I spring for the 2.1 version it will be an added $500 on top of the $600 for the two satellites.  Should I use the $500 and buy the Oppo BDP-83 to replace my PS3 slim as the blu-ray and have the added SACD player?  Everything will be purchased eventually... just wondering about the order in which I should manage my purchases.

Thanks.

Michael

Are you pushing your current sub to its limits?  Does it sound distorted at times?  Yes - buy a second sub so they can divide the work.  No - Then you don't need a second sub.

I would recommend going with a larger sub that can play lower.  But that's just me.

My experience with 8's are they provide serious punch, but when it comes to the ultra low end rolls, they just don't have the surface area.

Maybe adding a second one would improve this?  I"m unsure.

As for the PS3, the new slim version don't have a SACD player?  My first gen 80GB version does.

Adding a 2nd, identical sub won't make them play lower, just louder.

Ok... i think my money is better spent on the Oppo and the two satellites instead of the extra sub.  As for the PS3 slim, when they slimmed it out the also shaved off some of the available options unfortunately like the SACD player.  Granted when I bought it I didn't buy it for the SACD player, it just would have been nice to have had the bonus feature.  I can't complain though, the PS3 is an amazing machine.  It's so dynamic acting as a media hub, blu-ray player, and video game (the DLNA compatibility is great) being able to connect to my computer and network hard drive is so convenient.
