Boston Acoustics CR400 Hookup wire colors

I have had a surround-sound system for almost 10 years and everything works well, but I recently had to disconnect all the wires to the subwoofer, a Boston Acoustics CR400, because I had my room painted.   The back of the subwoofer has two left connectors, black and red, and two right connectors, black and red.  The wires I removed are 1. encased black and red wires marked "left" with tape on the wire, and 2.  black and red encased wires with no markings.  I know I should connect these to the like-color connectors on the left and right.  The third encased wire holds four wires - black, red, green and white.  I know these were connected and working at one point, but I have no idea where to connect them now.  Can anyone help?

Thanks

The manual isn't available on-line from Boston. There are websites that may have the manual in their data-base but they charge a fee.

What wires were hooked up to the receiver (and where) receiver, what type of connections were they (speaker wire, rca, etc.)  and how many speakers are you connecting it up to?

There are three sets of speakers - Front Left and Right, Rear Left and Right, and Center.  I am using the speaker wire connections.  I have the manual, but it doesn't mention anything about a four-wire cable with black, red, white and green wires.  I'm thinking the black and red would connect to either the left side along with the other black and red wires or the right side.  The Green and White would connect to the other set.  I'm not sure if the green and white wires are normally positive or negative. (or is there even a "normally" in a case like this?)

I can see that it is a more complicated issue than I imagined.

If I wire it incorrectly can I ruin the subwoofer?

I found the other end of the speaker wire and realized that the green/white wires were being treated as a second set of black/red wires.  I finished wiring it this morning and everything is working fine.
Thanks for your help.

I was having a heck-uv-a time finding anything on the CR400 on-line. Glad you got it working again.
