hello i have a velodyne va1012x subwoofer. just today i hooked it up to test it since it has been in storage for quite a while. hooking it up requires me to route from my receiver the L+R speaker wires to the sub and then the L+R speaker wires from the sub to the speakers. I get sound out of the L+R speakers but not out of the sub. Does anyone know what could be the cause of the sub emitting no sound? before you ask... the power is on!

Is the level knob on the sub turned up? Is the sub crossover set as high as it will go? Does your receiver have a sub/LFE output? Have you tried that connection because that is the recommended connection?
Yes to the volume switch, atomatic crossover ie no ability to select (crossover at 85Hz). receiver doesn't have sub output but the wiring instructions were given to me by Velodyne so it must be ok.
