OPPO BDP-83 Special Edition

Has any used one of these or have anymore information about it. I was planning to pick one up a OPPO BDP-83 and use the analog out when I noticed this. Is the extra $400 price difference really worth it?

You may want to check over at AVS, there has been several short reviews based on short-term usage.  Very good so far.  There is a separate thread on the 83SE model.

It looks like most of the SE's upgrades are associated with it's stereo and 7.1 channel analog outputs. Plus a better power supply.

The SE has a much better S/N ratio, 117-110. And a higher frequency responce, 44khz vs. 20 for the 83.

Whether this equates to $400 worth of performance is hard to say. I'm quite happy with my 83 but...
