I have had an Onkyo receiver HT-R667 7.1 for the last 10 months. It worked great for the first 7 months, then is started taking a long time for my tv to receive the hdmi signal from my dish to pass through the receiver to the tv. Takes about 10 minutes for the picture and 12 minutes for the sound. Same goes when I use the hd dvd player. I have troubleshooted with onkyo techs a bunch of times and was told to bring it in for service. I did so and when I received it back it still does the same. I took it in again they find nothing wrong with it. The service guy said it could be an incompatibility with my dish. Why would it work for the first 7 months. Dish network did come and give us a new dish receiver...and checked my connections with the receiver and said that from what he saw the receiver was hooked up correctly. Onkyo will not replace my receiver unless it has been repaired 3x!! The guy at the repair shop said he was closing out the ticket stating there is nothing wrong with it. Is anyone else having a similar problem or know how to fix it?

Problem with onkyo reciever help!!

It sounds like it could be a "handshake" problem with the new dish receiver, and the HDMI cable.
I'd try using component cables from the dish receiver to the A/V receiver, and component cables from the A/V receiver to the tv, for the video. Then use digital coax or optical cable from dish receiver to the A/V receiver, for the audio. See if that fixes the problem.
Good luck!
