A Final Warning!

Ok, perhaps it sounds a bit ominous.  When things just  pop into my head they sometimes scare me.  Either I remember someting I forgot or recall something I'd rather forget.  Well, here's a thought the wind blew between my ears. If studioes inform TV SHOWS ON DVD of upcoming TV releases, why can't they pass along a gentle warning as to what shows are not selling and may not see another season unless sales increase.  OK,  we can all see two things happeninmg.  Sales will increase or we'll just blow the show off and STOP buying it.  Sometimes we might need that extra little push.  Ok, I said it.

Because every studio would say that about every release to increase sales. It's not how things are done. Different titles have different sales expectations than others.

Makes sense Sam.  My marketing skills are nil.  I was thinking like a consumer and not like the distributor.

I have mentioned before that there are strategies the studios could do to increase sales. Studios could set up a system that allows fans to help in getting a series released. In addition to the free assistance in marketing, promotion, it would be great public relations between the public and the studios. I see many creative possibilities. They possibly could find out through surveys the interest in certain titles, to help insure success.

Studios cut the public out of the process but they hope they spend their money. They are missing some good opportunities.

Also, studios would not do that because they would potential sales. If a show is likely to be discontinued, due to low sales, then consumers would stop buying, and the studios don't want that.
