Hello all,

I just recently purchased the Yamaha DVX-700 home theater system and I am trying to connect it to my Xbox360 system but I dumbfounded on what to do!

Any help will be appreciated!

Thank you!

The Yamaha system doesn't have any video inputs, so you'll need to route the video from the XBox directly to the TV (you can use Component video cables - Red/Blue/Green RCA jacks) or an HDMI cable).

To get the digital surround sound, you'll need a cable to connect the audio from the XBox to one of the digital inputs on the Subwoofer unit of the Yamaha system.  The system has two optical connections (the square-looking connectors) and one coaxial digital input (RCA connector).  You don't want to use the Red/White analog RCA connections, because you won't get any digital surround that way.

Since you will be running the video directly to the TV, when you want to play XBox, you'll need to switch inputs on both the TV and the Yamaha unit to get both audio and video simultaneously.
