Wiring a sub

I just purchased Klipsch's 500 series hd surround sound system through Newegg, and it came with a Pioneer 5.1-Channel A/V Receiver VSX-819H-K for free.  Now I know that they both have an input/output for a coax subwoofer cable, but my younger brother told me I should use the "B" speaker outputs on the receiver and wire them to the subwoofer.  Any truth to this, or should I just use the dedicated subwoofer inputs?
Sorry about the noob question, as I am just that, a noob!

Your brother is wrong.  Use the pre-amp level connections and a "sub" cable.  Any coax cable with RCA ends will work.
