i have an older plasma tv and when i hook it up to my tv with dvi, it will recognize it with the power to the tv off, but when i turn the tv on the computer act like the cable was unplugged.  i can get it to work with a monitor attached and the desktop shown on the tv.  the htpc is running windows 7.  as soon as i unplug the monitor, i looks the picture on the tv.  my only choices are vga, video, s-video or dvi. 

any help would be appreciated.
