Verify Address Banner on every page, even after verification

Is anyone else experiencing this? I have a banner on every page that says:

Welcome Rodney! Please check your email to verify your address. Didn't get it? Click here to resend.

I have replied to the email, and I get a thanks for joining page, then the next time I go to the website, the banner is still there.

I take it from the lack of replies, I am the only one that has this issue.
