I received a response a short time ago, agreeing that any confusion needs to be cleared up ASAP, and that they naturally want the entire thing to be extremely fan-friendly.  The intent is to get that information together in a new announcement as soon as possible.  I don't know if this means "this coming week" or if it will take more time than that, but my impression is that the goal is to get it done in days (rather than weeks or longer).

I just wanted to let you know that this info is being worked on, and allay any fears that may be brewing.  And hey, if you are participating in a similar discussion to this one about IDHF anywhere else on the web, then please pass this along for me, okay?  Thanks, and stay tuned and keep an eye on TVShowsOnDVD for that update, okay?

Just to pass on that I was told by my contact that the response/follow up about Dickens/Fenster DVDs won't be as quick as originally thought, but the implication (well, what I read between the lines in this message, anyway) was that your feedback has been heard and is being taken into account. So hang tight everybody, okay?

Hell is freezing over. Max Headroom on DVD. And, WB has a licensing deal with Shout Factory.

So, four of the big five companies are licensing things to Shout now. I guess this means there's a glimmer of hope for many abandoned TV shows on DVD now.

Isn't Max Headroom one of the most requested unreleased on DVD shows?

I'm looking forward to picking it up eventually.

Oh, and The Norm Show is also being released by Shout.

Shout won't stop today!

Hey Now!

The Larry Sanders Show complete series sometime in September.

Is Shout going to be the only provider of Classic TV on DVD by the end of 2010?

And aren't you a little ray of sunshine today, Mr. Lambert? All these unreleased and abandoned show announcements...

All I can say is wow.  I figured Larry Sanders would be coming but never imagined Max Headroom or any WB property going to Shout!

I'm waiting for Seasons 4-6 of GREEN ACRES and the final 2 seasons of BOB NEWHART.

Well if the ice has been broken at last with Warner licensing a title out to another company, I hope this will be a sign that some more vintage Warner titles will be forthcoming soon.
Technically now it's more like five of the six big companies:  WB, Fox (including MGM via Fox), Sony, Universal, ABC/Buena Vista/Touchstone which only leaves CBS Paramount.  Hopefully CBS Paramount will finally start licensing to Shout!

This might explain the lack of TV titles in the Archive program.

Are the MacGyver TV movies considered "classic TV shows"? Even if not, I'm stoked for this release since I wasn't going to double dip just to get the movies. I've never seen them so they're kind of a holy grail to me. Thank you, Paramount

Just noticed they've been added to the first post.  Thanks Ethan.  Thank you, CBS/Paramount, indeed for completing my all-time favorite!

I just pre-ordered my first copy - I'm ordering two, and I can't wait to finally dump my VHS recordings.

Silverking, I checked Timeless' site; can't find anything about Frontier Circus. Can you link me to your info?

I had previous information that this was a series Timeless were considering.

Now listed at Deep Discount forthcoming releases.

Thanks Chris--I checked Deep Discount. Sure enough, they have a listing for it. Their release date is 6/8/10 and they have a price for it, but no cover art or other details so far. I also checked amazon; they have it listed for April 20. Both sites also list wildly different prices for the set lol.  For now, I'm just gonna list it here in the 'rumors' section until we get a confirmation. Good work, Chris!

Bump for Patty Duke Season 3, which will finish off that series. Here's at least one more classic show that will actually see completion on dvd! (Now how the heck did they manage to film 104 episodes in just 3 seasons??)

I guess for the same reasons that the cast and crew of Bewitched managed to film 107 episodes by the end of the show's third season.

Back in the 1950s it wasn't unusual for a season to have 35-40 Episodes a Season. These days you are lucky to have 20 a Season. Today a Typical Season will go something like this:

September-October - Series Premere - about 4 Episodes, then Reruns or "Specials" until the "Sweeps Months" (November - February - May), during which "Fresh' Episodes will be shown, with more Reruns or Specials in between the "Sweeps".
